View Full Version : Sharpener-Image Processor-RAW question
I find myself working some batches of photos entirely in ACR (tonal and color balance, curve, contrast, etc.) I've made an action in Photoshop which then does capture sharpening, resizing to print size (with fit size), and then doing output sharpening. Then in Image Processor I start with these RAW images and turn out JPEG and psd images (fit to size boxes checked)and within image processor I run the action. MY QUESTION is can I be certain the resizing is being done before the output sharpening? Should I not check the fit to size boxes in the image processor, but handle the resizing only within the action? What exactly is your workflow for something like this.
Thanks

Image Processor runs the action before resizing, so you should handle the resizing in the Action. I'm told it's possible to edit the Image Processor script to make it run the Action at the end, but I know just enough about that to be dangerous...
Thanks very much. So what would you do? Say you want JPEG images of one size and psd images for printing at another size? I guess you couldn't handle that in one Image Processor (and 1 action) step, could you--in-so-far as the output sharpening. Also, I asked once before, but the question was probably missed. Does something like Dotphoto print in Contone? Would I send them a 300 ppi file, sharpened for Contone 300?

I wonder why Dr. Brown did not include Sharpening in Image Processor? It was present in his PS CS script, and I notice it does appear in his new CS2 Caption Maker.
