In CS2 I don't see PhotoKit "working", meaning that in CS I could see the various actions being applied. When I just installed in CS2 the sharpening either isn't happening or is doing so faster and not seen to the naked eye as it happens. Am I missing something here?

It's a free benefit of Photoshop CS2. PhotoKit and other automate plug-ins, action and scripts run faster now without either document window updates nor palette updates. This means everything runs a lot faster. . .and no, you WON'T be able to see what's going on cause it runs so fast...
Cool huh?

Jeff,
Seems as if my computer is "seriously challenged" to put it politely. With CS2, takes 15 seconds to open a 70 MB file (16 bit) from Bridge into Photoshop with both applications already open; takes 1 minute for Capture Sharpen (35 mm slow negative film, super fine edge sharpening option) to complete. This is on a Dell 8200 2.2 Ghz, with 1.536 MB RAM, two hard drives, scratch disk on secondary drive. After implementing all of Adobe's efficiency recommendations, is the only fix for more speed a newer computer?
