Hey folks,

I am sharpening for a project that will be finished as large, backlit inkjets.

The printer gave me specs of 150 dpi at 100%, in this case, as big as 20 x 30 to 30 x50.

Any considerations here? Viewing distances etc?

One of them, I know for sure, will be located behind the reception desk at the particular trade show...the others probably will be seen from about 5 feet on out.

Should I just sharpen for the appropriate inkjet dpi in the PKS menu?...closest possible that is.

Please advise...I do believe that they are outputting from an HP printer but I am not sure.

Thanks,

Peter Frahm

Everything came out looking great...thanks for your help!!

Guess in the end it was much ado about nothing to worry about.

Peter, do you know what media they used? And also, any details of the backlit frames?

No clue...I saw them on a huge light table at the printer, unmounted. They were on the fast track for shipping and I just needed to approve them. The media looked like any old transparent acetate sort of stuff..a bit heavy and probably with a ink jet friendly coating. Um, you could get all this info If you buzz up Color Image on Milwaukee ave in Chicago. Ask for a tech guy. Pretty cool looking though..they work pretty well.

As for sharpening, I didnt get a response from here so I just shot short of the mark with final output sharpening for lowest dpi and they looked great.
