Jeff,

I received my copy of the Photoshop Masters 2 Cd today. During the video in which you explain an Action involving the Batch Processing of ACR you "Do an Output Sharpener with PhotoKit Sharpener and then doing a Save." You, then, explain "At this point... my flagged files have been processed into Photoshop files... ."

Then, you proceed to open one of the files in Photoshop for further "tweaking."

Is that correct? Should I be doing an "Output Sharpening" BEFORE I do any work in Photoshop?

I'm on the road so I can't check the exact sequence you are referring to. . . but I doubt it.

Output sharpening is entirely output size and media dependent. By the time I get to that stage where I'll be printing, all the other work such as capture sharpening, retouching and tone/color correction would already have been done.

I believe if you review the DVD you will hear Jeff say "Capture".

Steve,

Well, doggone it. I was sent a defective copy.

My copy has Jeff Schewe (or someone purporting to be him) saying this:

"At this point I am actually ready to go ahead and process the batch folder. Automatically each image will open up with the RAW file settings I have saved and updated to the file. It will run through a series of pre-recorded steps including setting the file info to my name and putting a copyright notice; running a photokit sharpener -- Capture Sharpening; doing a Merge Visible; doing an Output Sharpener with PhotoKit Sharpener; and then doing a Save." After saying this, he, immediately. opens one of the files in Photoshop for further "tweaking."

Ah, well. I guess I got my money's worth though. (Well, if I disregard the shipping charge.)

So I suppose I shouldn't worry about it. Or as Rosanna Rosannadanna said: "Never mind."

Well I just never learn to keep my nose from where it doesn't belong! I stopped listening after the first "capture" and didn't hear the second "output".
I've gotta learn to let others speak for themselves. Good thing it's cloudy here or the egg on my face would have fried. With my scrambled brain that's why I usually just read forum posts.
Sorry for the egg references.
