I just started getting the message "Could not complete the PhotoKit Capture Sharpener command because a command was not available."
I get this in both PhotoKit and Sharpener, regardless of what action i choose.
The images I scanned before and after do not have this problem.
My workflow is identical in all images. There is nothing different in the problem
image, at least showing. I did restart Photoshop with no help.
Any ideas?

In the manual, it indicates that files must have two things. . .a real background layer-not a 'named layer' and the rules in Photoshop must be set to their default zero/zero setting. . .check the manual for the fix.

<BR>It was the background layer. It said "background" but when I replaced it with a "layer from backround" everything was OK. Beats me. Thanks for the help.

Double-clickin the background layer will pop a dlog asking you to name 'Layer 0' and that's often how people mistakingly rename their background layers. . .and just renaming doesn't alter the behavior. For that you must do the Layer/New/Background from Layer or flatten.

Does this have anything to do with the reason why PK products won't work on a PS Photomerge file until it has been flattened? I asked about this in the PK sharpener area but never got an answer...

Is the bottom layer a normal Background layer or is it a named or numbered layer? If it's anything other than a real Background layer, not, it won't work. You don't have to flatten, but you will have to add a layer at the bottom and convert it to a real Baclground layer.

Yup, that's it - the layer is called "Photomerge" - I still don't understand what is going on there because there are no other layers available that I can see, yet I am able to do a "flatten layers" command which then changes the Photomerge layer to a background layer. Guess I have to dig deeper to try and find what other layers there are and where they are. Thanks!

All you need to do is add a layer. . .put it on the bottom of the stack and do a Layer>New>Background from layer command. Then PhotoKit can run. . .
