I have used all your products on a PC Win2K PS CS with stunnig results and no problems. Last week I switched machines to a new dual processor PC with Win XP. I tested Creative Sharpener last week and it appeared to be find. Today, I opened a 16bit image and I find that when I try and sharpen I get no results. The history brush shows I'm sharpening but no "paint" appears on the layer in the layers palette and no results on the screen. I'm sure it must be something simple but I don't know what's going on. I appreciate your help. Bob

As a follow-up, I uninstalled and reinstalled. No change. Capture and output work fine. So do PhotoKit and PhotoKit Color. It's only the brushes in Creative Sharpener that will not work.

All of a sudden, it seems I'm having a similar problem, though I'm on a Mac.

I've used the creative sharpener before, too many times to count, to great effect, but this morning, I've been trying to use it and nothing... nothing is happneing.

I blew the picture up to 200 percent to see if it was just so subtle that I couldn't easily tell... nothing.

I tried several different files, a high res jpeg, a raw file from a Canon 1Ds and a NEF from a Nikon D1x, none of them showed any signs of Creative Sharpen effect.

Feel free to send me files, and I'll see what, if anything, I can figure out.

Send crops that include the apparently non-functioning layer to bruce@pixelgenius.com.

To be clear, are you referring to not being able to get the layer mask to reveal the effcts or are you saying there is no sharpening on the pixel layer?

In the event you can't get the layer mask to work, confirm you are painting with white in a normal brush blend mode with an opacity of 10-20% and that your channel options are set correctly.

In the event there is no sharpening effect on the pixel payer, that seems to be a mystery effect that has effected one ot two people out of thousands and can not be reproduced. Again, do send the file to Bruce and ideally enable history logging to metadata so we can see the -EXACT- steps you've taken.

A quick way to check on the actual sharpening effect is to hold the shift key when clicking on the layer mask. This will temproarily defeat the layer mask. If there's sharpening there then you've got your channel settings or brush settings screwed up.

Thanks for the offer to send files. I ended up installing 1.2.2 and all works great again. Thank you.
