We've identified the reason that at least some Windows users are having activation issues with the recently released RCs of our products. It seems the installer fails to properly identify and update an older 'eSellerateEngine.dll' file which is required to activate with eSellerates Activation Server. We will have an updated installer soon but those people who need to get up and running now (and if you feel comformatble updating the .dll file) we'll post the correct and current .dll file for user replacement.
Download and unzip the current 'eSellerateEngine.dll' version 3.6.2 and replace the older version that is at: bootdrive/WINDOWS (this is your boot drive letter and inside the WINDOWS folder-it should be loose in the folder). When you get a prompt whether or not you wish to replace the old file with the new file, say yes.
Quit and relaunch Photoshop and with an RGB image open navigate to File-Automate and select one of your products. This time clicking on Activate should launch the Activation successfully (if you are net connected) or pop the manual Activation window for no-net connected machines.
Please see the RC Download Page (http://www.pixelgenius.com/CS3BETA.html) for more info and to download the updated .dll file.
Sorry for the confusion and troubles...we'll be updating the RC installers ASAP.
