View Full Version : Inability to Sharpen a Stitched Image

I stitched 13 images each 6 mp together using PTGui, saved as .PSD. Then I opened this PSD in CS2. Next I attempted to use capture sharpener. Program error. I tried various levels from wide to super narrow. Same thing.

Next I tried Glenn Mitchell's Sharpener Scripts, they wouldn't run either - said Image does Not have a true back-ground layer.

The image I'm working on is approx 21000 px by 5000px or ~425Mega bits.

I'm guessing that the b/g layer is the culprit or something really lame, help.

Background layer is indeed the culprit. The simple fix is Layer>New>Background from Layer. (This is documented in the manual.)

Thanks for the quick reply. As I went to public schools in the US it does seem unfair for you to expect me to read a manual.

Thanks again

If I expected you to read the manual, I'd just have posted a message telling you to read the manual!

At some point, though, it's probably worth a look, which is why I mentioned it.

I really feel foolish, I read the whole manual and found nothing so I assumed that I had skimed over this problem and as I was about to fire off a smart ass retorte, I checked my version. 1.2.3; manual 1.2.2.

I've up graded and am now printing out the manual.

Thank you for your help.

In either version of the manual, the relevant section is on page 8, starting at the yellow box in the second column...
